Over 30 #TeamMC runners take part in Marrakech Marathon to support ‘Children of the World’

Monday, 5th February 2018

The Marrakech Marathon is one of the world’s greatest running events with over 8,000 people taking part from all corners of the globe. It is a prestigious event and quite rightly so, since it navigates through the alleys of a magical city with picturesque views and the sight of palm trees, oranges and olive-trees.

In the second year since #TeamMC has been participating in the event, the volunteers this year rose to 32 running participants and 42 people in total (including family members of the runners). It was an exceptional effort by all those who took part and there was great community and team spirit.

The marathon itself took place on 28th January 2018 and there was a choice of doing the half-marathon (13 miles/21 km) or the full marathon (26 miles/42 km). The #TeamMC members arrived nice and early on Friday 26th February 2018 and spent the first 48 hours settling into the climate and exploring the ancient city. The weekend trip also featured excursions to see the breath-taking Waterfall Cascade d’Ouzoud as well as Quad Biking and Camel Rides.

Collectively the #TeamMC running veterans of the Marrakech Marathon 2018 have so far raised £28,000 towards the #ChildrenOfTheWorld campaign that supports needy street children and children affected by wars around the world.
