The death toll from Pakistan's worst floods in living memory currently stands at over 2,000, with the threat of more rain, diseases and infection is taking its toll on the survivors.
More than 20 million people have been affected and 650,000 homes have been destroyed by floods and landslides brought on by monsoon rain in Pakistan.
Floods are having a crippling effect on the local economy as food prices are raising due to damaged crops – 1.3 Million acres of crops is estimated to be completely destroyed.
At least one fifth of the country's surface - 160,000 square kilometres - has been affected, equivalent to more than the surface of Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland combined, according to the United Nations.
Muslim Charity has initiated the Pakistan Flood Relief. This appeal aims to raise funds to provide much needed emergency aid to the victims of the devastating flood in Pakistan which started in the last week of July, 2010.
Please donate generously to Muslim Charity to provide emergency shelter and assistance to those affected.
Muslim Charity Pakistan Flood Emergency Relief

In response to the need of the British Muslim community, Muslim Charity has launched the Eaton Girls Boarding School project – an independent boarding school for girls providing secondary and post‐secondary education. The new initiative will provide a high standard education in a caring Islamic environment. Planning permission has been granted and construction work has commenced.
Over 400,000 Homeless Urgent need of Food, Shelter and Medicine
Muslim Charity is raising funds to help the victims of the ethnic violence in southern Kyrgyzstan.
An unofficial figure says more than 2000 are dead and around 400,000 homeless.
Ethnic clashes continue in the southern cities of Osh and Jalalabad, forcing tens of thousands of Uzbeks to seek refuge in neighboring Uzbekistan and worsening an already precarious food situation. There is a desperate need of Food, Water and medicine. In this critical situation every penny of your donation counts.
The UN says that the number of people displaced by unrest in southern Kyrgyzstan has reached 400,000.
About 300,000 people have fled their homes, while another 75,000-100,000 people - not counting children - are thought to have taken refuge in Uzbekistan.
The Red Cross (ICRC) has described the situation as an "immense crisis".
Some aid has begun to arrive in the region, but the ICRC says refugees are running short of basic supplies.
At least 40,000 refugees are without shelter.
People have been leaving after violence between Kyrgyz and ethnic Uzbeks last week, in which at least 191 were killed. Some observers have said the death toll is higher.
The latest UN Humanitarian Office figure exceeds previous estimates of 250,000-275,000 displaced.
Over the border in Uzbekistan, many of the displaced - mostly women and children - are in makeshift camps.
Many report instances of rape, and severe beatings.
"We need clothes and medical supplies, especially for the children, because when we fled our homes we just ran away and couldn't take anything with us," said Halima Otajonova, a 41-year-old mother of two, at a refugee centre at a stadium in the Uzbek town of Khanabad.

Muslim Charity Haiti Response - making a real difference to people's lives
January 30th 2010
On Tuesday 12 January 2010, Haiti was struck with a catastrophic 7.0 magnitude earthquake which struck at 16:53 local time. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) – which immediately notified Muslim Charity as well as other leading International NGOs and Broadcasting Corporations – further recorded six aftershocks in the two hours after the main earthquake.
This huge tragedy has caused immense damage to the country’s infrastructure and has taken many lives. On 28 January the Haitian government gave a confirmed death toll of 170,000. Haitian authorities have also estimated that 250,000 people sustained injuries, and as many as one million Haitians were left homeless.
Muslim Charity immediately launched an Emergency Appeal for the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. Muslim Charity has partnered with ShelterBox and is currently on the ground providing urgently needed food, medicine, water purification units and shelter.
Muslim Charity’s Emergency Shelter Boxes were prepared in Cornwall (UK) and immediately sent to the Hiatian capital, Port-au-Prince, to provide support and assistance to those terribly effected by this tragic disaster.
With a donation of £500 you can donate towards a complete Shelter Box that can support 10 people.
The £500 Shelter Box provides the following:
- At the heart of every ShelterBox is a ten-person tent. It is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, high winds and heavy rainfall. Internally, each tent has privacy partitions that allow recipients to divide the space as they see fit.
- Every box contains a children’s pack containing drawing books, crayons and pens.
- The boxes contain a range of other survival equipment including thermal blankets and insulated ground sheets, essential in areas where temperatures plummet at nightfall.
- The box itself is lightweight and waterproof and has been used for a variety of purposes in the past - from water and food storage containers to a cot for a newly born baby.
- A key piece in every box is either a wood burning or multi-fuel stove - that can burn anything from diesel to old paint. This provides the heart of the new home where water is boiled, food is cooked and families congregate. In addition, there are pans, utensils, bowls, mugs and water storage containers.
